It is about character, actions and words.
It is kinda funny that last week they hired the only black guy at our very small company. He was clean cut, dressed appropriately and spoke with confidence in a professional manner.
I shook his hand and welcomed him to the company as I was very glad to see him. Thinking about it this weekend I realized I had not shaken the hands of the four whites we have hired over the last few months I simply welcomed them with words.
By being excited to meet him was I as a white/white acting as a racist by not treating the other white/whites equally?
