The Duke was a major influence in my youth. I never understood why I liked him so much in film except that he always tried to display good character and upheld the American values that I was raised to believe in.
Today I found a link on another blog that led me to one of the videos below. I wish that I had seen these 40 years ago as my hero of yesteryear might have awakened my mind much sooner than the hard knocks did a few years ago.
